Architect Erick van Egeraat has won the tender for the construction of the National Library of Tatarstan in the center of Kazan. The total  area of buildings will be 81.000 m2. This complex is designed as a continuation of the indoor urban center with a multi-functional  building at 18 floors, which serves as a portal between the library and the city. This is a place where cultural and business unite the  city.  The complex is situated in south-eastern edge of town, the library will be inserted into the hill, continuing to shape the landscape and  forming a new park.
